South Palm Beach is about five-eighths of a mile long, on a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Lake Worth Lagoon. South Ocean Boulevard is its only street.
More than eight in ten homes in town are in buildings of 20 or more units, according to Census Bureau estimates, and about half were built in the 1970s. Very few are newer than 2000.

The town’s Building Department works with Hy-Byrd Building Inspections and is open 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Projects are tracked through My Government Online. Our office files the roof permit and schedules the inspections.
