Permits and historic districts
The city’s Building Division is at 1900 2nd Avenue North. It accepts either the city’s permit application or the Palm Beach County universal application. If the house is in one of the city’s historic districts, a Certificate of Appropriateness goes in with the permit.
Lake Worth Beach or Lake Worth?
The city voted to change its name from Lake Worth to Lake Worth Beach in 2019. Many addresses that say Lake Worth are outside the city, in unincorporated Palm Beach County, and the city does not permit those roofs. We check which office covers your address before we file.
